Issey Miyake Skyline Racing Jacket 1980’s
The “Skyline” line was a unique collaboration between the Issey Miyake Studio and Nissan for their legendary Nissan Skyline car model.
This line was produced only for a short period of time which is generally cited to be in early to mid 1980’s. The collection was reportedly sold exclusively at Nissan Prince dealerships in Japan, which makes these pieces highly sought after.
This particular jacket is styled like a flight/bomber jacket with racing/motorcycle jacket detailing consistent with the aesthetics of the early 1980’s.
It features a nylon/poly body, quilted panelling on the upper shoulder/ chest area, removable shoulder pads, and a contrasting black ribbed collar with a snap closure.
This jacket had sewn in shoulder pads instead of the usual removeable ones via velcro. I had the shoulder pads taken out by a tailor.
