LEH’s brand name pays homage to a region in India (Leh), where designer Takuya Mikami travelled and spent time in, in his first trip overseas. Inspired by the patterns there, he also incorporates traditional and nomadic folk costumes from Japan, India, Morocco and other countries he’s travelled to.

Inspired by monks in Asia, a kesa is originally a traditional rectangular outer vestment worn by the monks and priests. The Kesa is Leh’s signature item which is a slouchy crossbody bag that features a drawcord at the opening and straps, allowing for adjustment of the silhouette and drapes. The ends of the drawcords are equipped with rings that either fastens the bag or for attaching keys and other items. The Kesa combines large storage capacity with lightweight wearability.
